CUPPING
Cupping therapy uses suction to move stagnation and help promote healing. When cups are applied to affected areas of the body the underlying tissues are drawn upward creating negative pressure. This action allows free flow (circulation) to be restored releasing muscle tension, easing pain, soothing lung congestion and even massaging damp causing cellulite.
Cupping is easily recognised by its signature purple marks, which are often mistaken for bruises. Firstly cupping doesn’t always leave dark marks on the body. The severity of cupping marks are an indication of the level of stagnation or disharmony in a persons body. Secondly a bruise is caused by a trauma to the affected area, damaging vessels, deoxygenating blood and causing pain. Cupping has the reverse action and although unsightly does not cause pain. |
